In Greek mythology, except the twelve gods of Olympus, considered the most important of all, there were other gods who were not resident in this divine mountain. One of them was god "Dionysus". He was the most cheerful of the gods and the most beloved by people. Like Prometheus gave them fire or Asclepius the first foundations of medicine, Dionysus offered them the vine and wine.
The cheerful god traveled and visited many countries and states to teach people how to cultivate the vines and how to make the wine from its fruits. Faithful followers of the god Dionysus were travelling with him on long journeys. Led by Dionysus they crossed Egypt, Libya and other countries in Africa. Then they went and Asia, the Arabs, the Lydians, the Phrygians and eventually reaching India. |
